This is a cover illustration for a hypothetical New Yorker article inspired by a trip I took to the Palisadoes-Port Royal mangroves in sixth form. I was very interested in the education initiatives our guides mentioned, particularly their outreach to local fishermen about safer fishing practices. I think education is the first step of change, so this illustration shows a professor talking to a group of fishermen about the specific importance of our mangroves.
